White Card – General Construction Induction
CPCWHS1001 Prepare to Work Safely in the Construction Industry
This course provides the mandatory training required to work safely in the construction industry in NSW.
(Formerly known as WHS White Card Construction Induction)
Language, Literacy and Numeracy (ACSF)
To successfully complete this course, participants should have skills aligned to the following Australian Core Skills Framework (ACSF) levels:

Reading: Level 2

Writing: Level 2
-
Oral Communication: Level 2
-
Learning: Level 2

Who Needs a White Card?
A White Card (General Construction Induction Training Card) is required for anyone who intends to carry out construction work or enter operational construction zones.
This includes:

Site managers, supervisors, surveyors, labourers and tradespeople

Workers who access construction sites, whether supervised or unsupervised

Workers whose role requires them to routinely enter operational construction zones
Certification & Card Issue
Upon successful completion of this course:
-
You will receive a SafeWork NSW Statement of Training on the day
-
The Statement of Training is valid for 60 days and can be used as proof of completion while waiting for your card

SafeWork NSW will post your White Card directly to you
-
Most cards are issued within 30 days
Units of Competency

CPCWHS1001 – Prepare to Work Safely in the Construction Industry
Participants who successfully complete the assessment will be issued a Statement of Attainment for this unit.
Identification Requirements
Participants must provide 100 points of identification, including photo ID, on the day of training.
Card Validity
Your White Card may become void if you have not carried out construction work for two (2) consecutive years or more.
