Chemical User Training
Prepare, Apply, Transport and Store Chemicals
If you use chemicals such as herbicides, insecticides, fungicides, bactericides, baits, lures or rodenticides as part of your work, NSW legislation requires you to hold a current Chemical Users Certificate.
Current training is mandatory to lawfully use pesticides in NSW for work or business purposes.
Language, Literacy and Numeracy (ACSF)
To successfully complete this course, participants should have skills aligned to the following Australian Core Skills Framework (ACSF) levels:

Reading: Level 2–3

Writing: Level 2

Oral Communication: Level 2
-
Learning: Level 2
-
Numeracy: Level 2
Participants must be able to read and interpret chemical labels and Safety Data Sheets (SDS), follow workplace and legislative procedures, calculate application rates, select appropriate PPE, and complete required documentation.

Course Overview
This course covers the skills and knowledge required to safely prepare, apply, transport and store chemicals used for the control of pests, weeds and diseases.
Topics include:

Preparing and applying chemicals for pest, weed and disease control

Use of general chemical application equipment

Safe transport, handling and storage of liquid and dry chemicals

Selection, use and maintenance of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)

Chemical disposal procedures

Workplace safety procedures

Legislative, regulatory and environmental requirements

Course Structure
Chemical Users – FULL Course - $380

Required for:

First-time participants
-
Participants whose previous Chemical Users Certificate has expired.

Chemical Users – Refresher - $350
-
Refresher participants attend the first half of the day.

Participants must hold a current Chemical Users Certificate to be eligible
Certification
Upon successful completion of assessment tasks, students will be awarded a:

Statement of Attainment for:

AHCCHM307 – Prepare and apply chemicals to control pests, weeds and diseases
-
AHCCHM304 – Transport and store chemicals
-
Chemical Users Certificates are valid for five (5) years.
Identification Requirements
Participants must provide valid photo identification on the day of training.
