Join us to learn and practice the art and science of food fermentation.

We’ll be making sourdough, sauerkraut, challah and yeast chocolate cake.

Workshop notes as well as a goodie bag with a loaf of sourdough and a jar of sauerkraut are provided!

Workshop includes morning tea and a vegetarian spread of Israeli foods including

falafel for lunch.

 

Trainer

Gal Winter

Gal has always had a fascination and love with the making (and eating) of food. She has a BSc and MSc in Food Science and moved from Israel to Australia to complete a PhD in wine fermentation.  Currently, Gal is a senior lecturer at UNE , teaching microbiology, biochemistry and nutrition as well as running an active research group, studying the microbiome in humans and plants environment. Over the past year her iso-cooking has skyrocketed and she would love to share some of her knowledge and skills with you.
