Keys to Capable Living is a course specifically designed to provide learning opportunities for students, including those from disadvantaged groups, to enable them to gain the skills and confidence to live independently.
Throughout this course, students will learn how to develop and use a personal budget, and develop and use a savings plan. Students will then step into the kitchen and learn to use hygienic practices for food safety and how to prepare simple dishes, while incorporating healthy eating topics and information. Another important unit of this course is that students will have the opportunity to obtain their Certificate in First Aid.
Units Covered:
- FNSFLT201 - Develop and use a personal budget
- FNSFLT202 - Develop and use a savings plan
- SITHCC101 - Use hygienic practices for food safety
- SITHCCC102 - Prepare simple dishes
- HLTAID003 - Provide First Aid
This course will run over six months, two days a week, for four hours per day.
